A MNEMONIC daily floor: the sum 3 - 5 with four answer tiles on an amber CRT screen

MNEMONIC is a retro-terminal brain puzzle game for phones. Each floor of a tower is a quick challenge from one of six families: memory, logic, maths, pattern, spatial and visual. Every day brings one Daily tower that is the same for everyone, with a streak, a leaderboard and a spoiler-free result grid to share.

About MNEMONIC

MNEMONIC stacks short brain puzzles into towers. Each floor is a single quick challenge drawn from six families: memory, logic, maths, pattern, spatial and visual. The maker lists about twenty puzzle types, such as recalling sequences, matching pairs, finding the missing operator, tracing sum paths, rotating shapes, fitting blocks, spotting the odd one out and lights-out grids. Solve a floor and the tower rises; a mistake costs a life. The whole thing is dressed as an old green and amber CRT terminal.

The daily mode is one tower per calendar day, seeded so that every player gets the same one, with a new tower at local midnight. The maker's FAQ says the daily tower has five segments; you can retry if you fail, but only one clear counts each day. Clearing it extends your streak, with milestones from 3 to 365 days, and opens a Bonus Daily worth extra score. You can share a Wordle-style result grid that shows your tiers and time but not the puzzles, and the game can tell you when someone passes you on the daily leaderboard.

Outside the daily there is a lot more: a 100-level story campaign in which clearing towers repairs a broken world, told through pixel-comic chapters; Time Attack; quick, standard and long towers of 10, 20 or 30 floors; custom runs; an archive of past dailies; races against an AI; and live multiplayer races for two to five players on the same tower. A per-puzzle rating tracks how you do in each family.

MNEMONIC is free with ads, and a one-time purchase of 2.99 dollars removes them; there are no subscriptions. It is in English, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Romanian, and has high-contrast, colourblind-safe and reduced-motion options. It came out in 2026.

Tips

  • Read each floor's instruction line before tapping: the puzzle family changes from floor to floor.
  • On memory floors, say the sequence to yourself in small chunks.
  • Practise the family you are weakest in with a custom run before the daily.
  • If you fail the daily you can retry it, so learn from the floor that caught you.
