The Lidraughts logo

Lidraughts, the free international draughts site modelled on Lichess, sets one daily puzzle for everyone: a position from real play where you find the winning combination. Each puzzle is numbered and shows how many players have tried it.

About Lidraughts Daily Puzzle

Lidraughts.org is a free, open-source site for international draughts (10x10 checkers), built on the same lines as Lichess. Its tactics trainer includes a daily puzzle: one position for every player that day, numbered (puzzle 2628 on 3 October 2026) and marked with whose turn it is, such as White to play. The page shows how many people have played it, more than 7,000 that day.

You find the best move or sequence of captures from the position, playing it out on the board. Draughts tactics often hinge on forced captures, so the solution may give up pieces to set up a decisive multi-capture.

Beyond the daily puzzle there are standard, Frisian and Russian puzzle sets to train on. It is free with no account needed to play.

It suits draughts players of any level who want one sharp position a day.

How to play Lidraughts Daily Puzzle

  1. Open the daily puzzle on Lidraughts.
  2. Note whose turn it is in the position.
  3. Find the best move or capture sequence.
  4. Play it out on the board; the trainer tells you if it is right.

Tips

  • Look for sacrifices that force your opponent into a capture that sets up a bigger one for you.
