Lettria is a French word game for iPhone and Android in the style of the TV letter game: the first letter of the mystery word is given and you have six tries to find the rest. The Mot du jour is the same word for every player each day, with one game a day and a daily leaderboard. A daily time attack ranks players on five words against the clock.
About Lettria - Mot du jour
The board shows the length of the word and the first letter. After each try the letters are coloured: red for the right letter in the right place, yellow for a letter in the word but elsewhere, and blue for a letter that is not there. Letters you have placed correctly carry down to the next row, and the AZERTY keyboard shows which letters are used up. A timer runs at the top, and the daily leaderboard ranks players by number of tries and time. Results share as an emoji grid that does not give the word away.
The home screen splits the modes into daily and practice. Chaque jour holds the Mot du jour and the Contre-la-montre du jour, the day's five words to chain before a five-minute clock runs out, ranked and limited to one game a day. Practice offers words of a random length or of 6, 7, 8 or 9 letters as often as you like, and an unranked time attack. Private leagues let you create a group with a code and compete with friends over time, and statistics track games, wins, streaks and guess distribution.
Lettria is made by Geoffrey Guitteny under the Namy Productions name and came to the App Store in August 2026. The game is entirely in French, made for French speakers and learners. It is free with ads, and a purchase removes them. A French dictionary is built in so it plays offline, and you can use a guest account or sign in with Google or Apple to keep scores across devices.

Tips
- Use your first tries on words with common French vowels and letters such as E, A, I, S and R.
- Watch the keyboard: dark keys are out, so do not spend a try on them.
- Speed matters on the leaderboard for players with the same number of tries, so think between tries but type quickly.
- Practise long words in the 8 and 9 letter mode before the days when the Mot du jour is long.
