About Sutom - Word Games & Puzzles (app)

The app's lead game is a word of the day in the Motus style: the first letter is shown, you have six tries, and red marks a letter in the right place, yellow a letter in the wrong place and blue a letter not in the word. Everyone gets the same word that day, so scores can be compared and shared.

Eight more puzzles come out each day beside it: a crossword with clues in the grid (mots fléchés), Pazuru (trace a path through numbered cells in order), sudoku in 9x9 and 6x6, Fubuki (place numbers to reach row and column sums), Dotscape (wall in a bird on a hex grid), Takuzu (0s and 1s), a word search and anagrams. Several get harder through the week, and the daily puzzles are numbered and dated.

Outside the dailies there are unlimited modes: themed quests, real-time duels against friends, a two-minute chrono and a blind mode without the first letter. The app works offline, is free with ads and in-app purchases, and runs in French, English and Spanish. It is a separate app from the SUTOM website.

How to play Sutom - Word Games & Puzzles (app)

1. Open the app and choose a language: French, English or Spanish.
2. Play the word of the day: type a word starting with the given letter and read the colours.
3. Find the word within six tries, then compare your result with friends.
4. Move on to the other daily puzzles, such as the crossword, sudoku and Takuzu of the day.

• In the word of the day, use early guesses to test common vowels.
• Daily logic puzzles get harder through the week, so the early days are a good place to learn the rules.
