Letter Boxed (Word Unscrambler)
Rate itChain words that use all 12 letters around the box, in as few words as par.
Every day: One numbered Letter Boxed board a day (Puzzle 54 on 16 October 2026), the same 12 letters around the square and the same par for every player, with a difficulty label. A Practice tab deals extra random boards. New puzzle: Not stated; a new numbered puzzle each day.

A free take on the Letter Boxed format from the Word Unscrambler site. Each day brings one numbered board of 12 letters on the four sides of a square, and you link words, each starting with the last letter of the one before, until every letter is used. A par sets the word count to aim for, and a practice mode deals more boards without sign-up.
About Letter Boxed (Word Unscrambler)
Letter Boxed on Word Unscrambler is a browser version of the word puzzle the New York Times made popular. Twelve letters sit around a square, three on each side. You spell words by picking letters, but two letters in a row can never come from the same side, so every word zigzags across the box.
The words form a chain: each new one has to begin with the letter the last one ended on. The board is solved once all 12 letters have been used at least once, and letters may be used again as often as you like. Each puzzle shows a par, the number of words to finish in, and a difficulty label such as Medium. The Daily tab holds one numbered board that is the same for everyone that day; the Practice tab generates random boards to play as many times as you want.
The game needs no account and no subscription, which is the main difference from the original. Statistics for games played, wins, streak and best result are kept in your browser, and a finished puzzle can be shared. The page carries ads.
It suits players who like the NYT Letter Boxed and want a second daily board, or more boards to practise two-word solutions on.
How to play Letter Boxed (Word Unscrambler)
- Open the Daily tab and read the 12 letters, three on each side of the box.
- Click letters or type them to spell a word of at least three letters, never taking two letters in a row from the same side.
- Press Submit; the next word must start with the last letter of the word you just played.
- Keep chaining words until the tracker under the box shows all 12 letters used.
- Try to finish in par or fewer words, then share your result or switch to Practice for another board.
Tips
- Find the word for the rare letter first, such as J or W, and build the chain around it.
- End words on letters that start many words, like S, T, R or E, to keep the next word open.
- A long first word that touches all four sides leaves few letters for the second, which is how two-word solutions come about.
- Use Undo and Clear freely: nothing counts until you press Submit.
