Word Weft (Decatur Games)
Rate itSplit the day's 10 letters into words four different ways, using every letter each time.
Every day: One set of 10 letters a day, the same for every player (A A C D E I L R T T on 7 October 2026), to be split four ways: a 3 and a 7-letter word, a 4 and a 6, two 5s, and two 3s with a 4. Past puzzles stay playable from a calendar. New puzzle: Once a day, a new numbered set of letters; earlier dates stay in the calendar.

Word Weft (Decatur Games) gives you 10 letters a day and four patterns of word lengths to fill with them. Each pattern must use all 10 letters exactly once: a 3 and a 7, a 4 and a 6, two 5s, and two 3s with a 4. Complete all four sets to solve the day's puzzle.
About Word Weft (Decatur Games)
Word Weft is one of three daily word puzzles from Decatur Games, next to Step Words and Twice Thrice. Each day has its own numbered puzzle built from 10 letters, shown above every row of the board.
The board has four rows of empty boxes, one for each pattern: a 3-letter word with a 7-letter word, a 4-letter word with a 6-letter word, two 5-letter words, and two 3-letter words with a 4-letter word. In every row you have to use all 10 letters exactly once, with nothing left over. The same letters feed all four rows, so the work is finding four different ways to cut one pool of letters into words.
Each box takes a single letter. As you type, the board marks letters that are not in the set or that you have used too many times, and shows whether each finished word is valid. There is usually more than one answer for a row; any valid set counts. Fill all four rows correctly and the puzzle is solved.
No account is needed. A calendar under Play Historical Puzzle lets you go back to earlier days.

Tips
- Start with the 3 and 7 row: find one long word and the three leftover letters often make a short word straight away.
- Use doubled letters early, such as the two Ts or two As, since they must go somewhere in every row.
- Vowels are the tight resource in the two-3s-and-a-4 row, which needs three separate words, so plan that row around them.
- Words from one row can give ideas for another: a 7-letter word may split into a 4 and a 3 for the last row.
