LetterLoop
Rate itTwo five-letter words, two shared letters, one loop of eight letters.
Every day: One numbered loop a day for everyone (Loop #968 on 5 October 2026): eight letters to make two five-letter words that share two letters. New puzzle: Once a day; loops are dated and numbered (exact hour not stated).

LetterLoop is a short daily word puzzle. Eight circles form a loop, two of them marked red, and you fill it from a bank of eight letters so that it holds two five-letter words sharing the two red letters. Every letter is used once, a timer runs, and more than one solution can count.
About LetterLoop
LetterLoop sets one puzzle a day, dated and numbered, and edited by Hartley Zook. The board is a ring of eight circles with two red ones, top and bottom, which belong to both words. Below it sits a bank of eight letters. Your task is to find two five-letter words that use all the letters once between them and share the letters in the red circles, so that together they make the eight-letter circle.
The game's own example uses MUSIC and CHARM, which share an M and a C. You tap letters from the bank to fill the loop, with buttons to erase, shuffle and delete, and you must fill in both words before pressing Enter. There can be more than one correct solution, and a timer records how long you take.
The site keeps your streak, average time and games played in a profile, with an optional login for the leaderboard. It is free and supported by donations. It suits players who like quick anagram puzzles over a morning coffee.
How to play LetterLoop
- Look at the bank of eight letters and the loop of eight circles.
- Work out two five-letter words that share two letters; the shared letters go in the red circles.
- Tap letters into the loop, using each bank letter only once.
- Fill in both words, then press Enter; more than one solution can be right.
Tips
- Start by picking the two shared letters: they appear in both words, so choose common ones such as E or A.
- Look for familiar endings and beginnings in the bank, such as -ED or CL-.
- Shuffle the bank when you are stuck to see new combinations.
- Remember that any valid pair of words using all the letters counts.
