Polyword

Polyword's board: seven letter tiles D, M, I, E, A, T and G in a honeycomb, a score bar with bronze, silver and gold medals, and Delete, shuffle and Guess buttons

Polyword is a daily word-making game in the spirit of Spelling Bee. Each day gives seven letters drawn from one hidden pangram, and you make as many words of four or more letters as you can, reusing letters freely. Longer words score more, the pangram earns bonus points, and medals mark your progress.

About Polyword

Polyword sets out seven letter tiles a day, the same for every player; on 5 October 2026 they were D, M, I, E, A, T and G. The letters come from one word, the pangram, which uses all seven. Your aim is to make the longest words you can, of four letters or more, and you may use each letter as many times as you like within a word.

There is one and only one official pangram, worth bonus points. The game notes that other words may also use every letter but are not the one the puzzle was built from. A score bar with bronze, silver and gold medals shows how far you have got, and a shuffle button reorders the tiles when you run out of ideas.

The welcome screen shows the date and yesterday's pangram, and the stats panel tracks games played, best and average score, and a countdown to the next word. It is free in the browser with no account. It suits players of Spelling Bee who prefer a version where long words are what count.

How to play Polyword

  1. Press Play to see the day's seven letters.
  2. Tap letters to spell a word of four or more letters; letters can be reused.
  3. Press Guess to score it; longer words score more.
  4. Find the pangram, the one word that uses all seven letters, for bonus points.
  5. Shuffle the tiles for fresh ideas and aim for the gold medal.

Tips

  • Look for common endings such as -ED, -ING or -MENT among the day's letters.
  • Since letters can be reused, try doubling consonants to make longer words.
  • Hunt for the pangram early: it is often a familiar word once you see it.
  • Check yesterday's pangram on the welcome screen to see what kind of words the game picks.
