KUMIKO: Daily Sudoku Puzzle
One sudoku a day, the same board worldwide, with a second view that tracks one digit at a time.
Every day: One numbered 9x9 sudoku a day, built on the device from the date so it is the same for everyone, with a leaderboard of that day's times.

KUMIKO is a daily sudoku app for iPhone from Horchata Studio in Valencia. Each day it builds one numbered 9x9 grid from the date, identical for everyone and solvable by logic alone. Your time goes to that day's Game Center leaderboard, and a second view called ATLAS shows where a single digit can go across all nine boxes.
About KUMIKO: Daily Sudoku Puzzle
The puzzle is classic sudoku: nine rows, nine columns and nine boxes that each hold 1 to 9 once. KUMIKO generates the day's board on your phone from the date, so it needs no server or account and works offline, and every player gets the same grid. Each board has one solution that can be reached with techniques a person uses, without guessing. The header shows the date, the daily number and the difficulty.
The twist is the ATLAS view. GRID asks what goes in a cell; ATLAS flips the question and shows, for one chosen digit, where it is placed and where it is ruled out in every box. Anything you place in one view appears in the other. Pencil marks tidy themselves when a digit lands, conflicts show as you go, and the app never reveals answers. The timer starts on your first move, and the finish goes to a leaderboard for that day only, beside a streak.
KUMIKO is made by Francisco Martinez of Horchata Studio and came to the App Store in September 2026, in nine languages and with hand-written VoiceOver support. The daily is free with no ads; a one-time Takumi purchase opens the archive back to day one, boards of your own at any difficulty and more colour palettes.

Tips
- Use ATLAS on the digit with the most placements: the boxes where it is missing often have a single spot left.
- The number keys show how many of each digit are left, so a digit with one left is quick to finish.
- Notes clean themselves up, so filling candidates early costs little.
