Kisekidle is a fan-made daily guessing game for The Legend of Heroes: Trails (Kiseki) series. Each day you name a character from attribute clues, the speaker of a quote, a piece of music from a short clip and a location from screenshots. Its maker no longer updates it, but the daily puzzles keep coming.

About Kisekidle

Kisekidle is a browser game for fans of Falcom's The Legend of Heroes: Trails series, known in Japan as Kiseki. It follows the pattern of the other game -dles: a fixed set of puzzles for the day, shared by everyone who plays, with a timer counting down to the next set at midnight UK time.

The day has four modes. Character gives you ten guesses at a hidden Trails character, and each guess shows how it compares on gender, weapon, nation, affiliation, age and the game they first appeared in. Quote shows a line and gives five tries to say who spoke it, with hints that reveal the game and who the line was said to. Music plays a track from the series, starting with one second and growing to two, five, ten and thirty seconds as you miss. Location shows a screenshot of a place and adds another after each wrong guess, up to five.

The pool covers the whole series, from Trails in the Sky FC, SC and the 3rd through Zero and Azure, the four Cold Steel games, Reverie and Daybreak. Once the day's set is done, a results page sums it up for sharing, and an Infinite Mode toggle above the countdown gives random puzzles without stats for anyone who wants more.

The site carries a notice that it is no longer maintained. Its maker says it will keep running with a daily puzzle, and has put the game's data up for download for anyone who wants to build on it. It suits players who know the Trails games well; newcomers will find the attribute columns and music the hardest.

How to play Kisekidle

  1. Open kisekidle.com; the Character mode opens first.
  2. Type a character's name, pick it from the list and press Submit Guess.
  3. Read the columns: each one shows whether your guess matches the hidden character's gender, weapon, nation, affiliation, age and debut game.
  4. Use what matched to narrow the next guess, within ten tries.
  5. Switch to Quote, Music and Location in the side menu and solve each in five tries; Music lengthens its clip and Location adds a picture after every miss.
  6. Open Today's Results when all are done to see and share your day.

Tips

  • Debut and affiliation narrow the field fastest: a match on debut game leaves only that game's cast.
  • In Music, listen to the first second for the instrument and tempo before guessing; battle themes and town themes start very differently.
  • In Location, a skip still reveals the next screenshot, so skip rather than spend a guess on a wild name.
  • Turn on Infinite Mode after the daily set to practise; it keeps no stats, so it does not touch your streak.
