Killer Sudoku (PuzzleMadness)
A daily sudoku with no given digits, only dotted cages and their sums.
Every day: A new dated Killer Sudoku puzzle every day, the same for every player, one for each difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard and Mixed); completed puzzles score on monthly and all-time leaderboards and past days stay in the archive. New puzzle: Once a day (the site does not state the time).

PuzzleMadness posts a new Killer Sudoku puzzle every day, the same grid for every player, at several difficulty levels. Normal sudoku rules, and the digits in each dotted cage must add up to the total in its corner. Finished puzzles score points on the site's monthly and all-time leaderboards.
About Killer Sudoku (PuzzleMadness)
Killer Sudoku combines sudoku with sums. The grid usually starts with no digits at all; instead it is divided into cages of two or more squares, each with a total. The digits in a cage must add up to that total, and every row, column and 3x3 box still holds 1 to 9 once. PuzzleMadness advises being comfortable with hard sudokus before starting these.
The daily page opens today's puzzle on its own, and its title carries the date (on 3 October 2026 it read "Daily Medium Killer Sudoku Puzzle for Saturday 3rd October 2026 (Medium)"). There is a separate dated puzzle for each difficulty: Easy, Medium, Hard and Mixed. Past days stay in the archive, so a missed puzzle can be played later, and there is a print version and an image download of the grid. PuzzleMadness does not publish solutions: the site tells you when you have finished a grid correctly or made a mistake. Each completed puzzle adds to your total on the Killer Sudoku monthly and all-time leaderboards, where only your best score on any one puzzle counts.
The key fact is that every row, column and box adds up to 45. If the cages inside a box cover all but one square, that square is 45 minus their sum. Small cages with extreme totals (3 in two squares, 24 in three) have only one set of digits, and they are the next place to look.
PuzzleMadness is a British puzzle site with dozens of daily puzzle types in the browser, from many sudoku variants to logic grids such as Nurikabe, Hashi and Slitherlink. It is free to play and carries ads. A free account keeps track of the puzzles you have finished and puts your name on the leaderboards, and the badges next to usernames mark how many puzzles a player has completed.
How to play Killer Sudoku (PuzzleMadness)
- Open the day's Killer Sudoku page and choose Easy, Medium, Hard or Mixed.
- Read the cage totals; note cages with only one possible set of digits.
- Use the 45 rule on rows, columns and boxes to find single squares.
- Fill the grid so every row, column and box holds 1 to 9 and every cage hits its total.
Tips
- Each box, row and column sums to 45; subtract the cages that lie inside to find the rest.
- Learn the unique sums: 3 is 1+2, 4 is 1+3, 16 in two squares is 7+9, 17 is 8+9.
- Write the possible digit sets for each small cage in pencil marks and trim them as rows and boxes fill.
Questions
Does Killer Sudoku give any starting digits?
Usually none; you start from the cage totals and the fact that each row, column and box adds up to 45.
When does the PuzzleMadness Killer Sudoku change?
Once a day: each puzzle is dated, and the daily page opens the current day's grid. The site does not say at what time the new one appears.

Yes. You can play without an account; the site shows ads. A free account records which puzzles you have finished and enters your scores on the leaderboards.
Where can I find the answers?

Can I play earlier Killer Sudoku puzzles?
Yes, older puzzles are in the archive, and puzzles completed on any day count toward that month's leaderboard.
