Junkyard (Mind Loft)
The biggest daily sliding-block jam: an eight by eight lot of nearly thirty blocks.
Every day: One 8x8 sliding-block board a day, the same for every player: move nearly thirty blocks along their axes to get the red block out, scored against a par and the proven fewest moves. New puzzle: Midnight US Eastern Time.

Junkyard is a free daily sliding-block puzzle from Mind Loft and the largest of its three lots. On an eight by eight board close to thirty blocks each slide along one axis only, and you clear a path for the red block to reach the exit, aiming for par or the proven minimum.
About Junkyard (Mind Loft)
Junkyard is the biggest lot in Mind Loft's sliding-block family: eight by eight, with close to thirty blocks that each slide on one axis only and a red block that has to reach the gap in the wall. Tap a block, tap where you want it, and it goes if the lane is clear. Parker is the same puzzle on a six by six lot and Impound on a seven by seven, so the three form a ladder of sizes.
Every board is generated and then solved exactly by a breadth-first search over every reachable position, so perfect really is the fewest moves that exist. Par sits a little above perfect and is the number a clean solve lands on. There is no undo, only a restart.
Boards climb through the week, from the low twenties of moves on Monday to the low forties by Saturday, and the Sunday Edition runs longer still. Even Monday's Junkyard runs deeper than any Parker board except a Sunday. A new board appears every day at midnight Eastern.
How to play Junkyard (Mind Loft)
- Open Junkyard and press Start to see the lot.
- Tap a block, then tap where you want it to slide along its axis.
- Clear a route and slide the red block out through the gap in the right-hand wall.
- Aim for par or fewer moves; there is no undo, only a restart.
Tips
- Map out which blocks block the exit row and what each one needs before moving anything.
- Use long slides; a slide of any distance counts as one move.
- On big lots the shortest route often starts far from the red block, so look at the whole board.
