It's Wordy No. 121 for 5 October 2026: the colour value key from 1 to 4, a score of 0, six empty letter boxes and a keyboard coloured by today's letter values

It's Wordy is a daily word game where every letter of the alphabet gets a colour and a value from 1 to 4 for the day. You spell valid words of the day's length, each scoring the sum of its letters, and try to fill a pyramid of gold, silver and bronze words with the day's best scores.

About It's Wordy

It's Wordy gives everyone the same numbered puzzle each day. The on-screen keyboard is coloured to show today's letter values: green letters are worth 1, olive 2, red 3 and purple 4, and the values shuffle every day. Each day also sets a word length, between five and seven letters (six on the day we looked).

You type a valid English word into the row of boxes and submit it, and its score is simply the sum of its letters: in the game's own example BREAD scores 1 + 3 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 11. There is no single answer and no wrong guesses to lose; the challenge is to hunt down the words that score highest with today's values.

Your best words fill a small pyramid: one gold word at the top, two silver and three bronze below. Finding a better word bumps the others down a tier, and filling every slot completes the daily pyramid, with an optimal pyramid as the top result. You can tap any word you have found to read its definition, and stats track your medals and pyramids over time.

It suits players who like Scrabble-style scoring and a puzzle with no fixed end, where you can come back during the day to improve your score.

Tips

  • Build words around the purple 4-point letters; a word with two or three of them will usually beat one without.
  • Swap a single letter in a word you already found for a higher-value one to make a new, better word.
  • Do not forget plurals and common endings that use high-value letters.
