Chiddle
Find the five highest-scoring words in a 4x4 grid of letters.
Every day: One numbered 4x4 letter grid a day, the same for every player; your score is your five highest-scoring words against the best possible. New puzzle: Midnight; the site says a new game is ready every day from midnight.

Chiddle is a daily word game that mixes Boggle with Scrabble scoring. You trace words through a 4x4 grid of letters, each letter has a point value, and only your five best words count. Your score is shown as a share of the best possible.
About Chiddle
Chiddle describes itself as a daily word game inspired by Boggle, Scrabble and Wordle. Every day brings one numbered puzzle, a 4x4 grid of sixteen letters, and everyone gets the same one. The first puzzle went up in February 2025, and a calendar archive lets you play any day since.
Words run through tiles that touch, across, up and down or diagonally, and each tile can be used once per word. A word needs at least three letters. Every letter has a point value and a word scores the total of its letters, so a short word with rare letters can beat a long plain one. You can enter as many words as you like, but only your five highest-scoring words make up your game score.
The corner of the screen shows your score next to the highest possible score for that grid, as a percentage. When you cannot improve it, you press Finish to lock it in, share the result and see the top words you missed. Hints are available, and the result notes how many you used. The game keeps statistics: games completed, average score, streaks and a spread of your percentages.
It suits Boggle players who prefer hunting for a few strong words over listing every small one.
How to play Chiddle
- Open Chiddle and look at the day's 4x4 grid of letters.
- Make a word of three or more letters from tiles that touch, across, down or diagonally, using each tile once.
- Type the word and press enter, or tap the tiles and tap the last letter again to submit.
- Keep finding words; only your five highest-scoring ones count.
- Press Finish to lock in your score and see the best words you missed.
Tips
- Hunt for words with high-value letters first; one strong word is worth more than several plain ones.
- Longer words built on a high-value letter can push a weaker word out of your top five.
- Check the percentage in the corner: it tells you how far you are from the best possible score.
- Hold off on Finish until you have tried plurals and endings like -ED and -ING on your best words.
