Smixed gives everyone the same six featured letters each day. You write six words, each starting with a different featured letter, and score a point every time a featured letter appears in your words, up to a maximum of 33. You can take all day to chase the top score or race the clock.
About Smixed
Smixed is a daily word game for the web, iPhone and Android, designed by Gabriel Acosta-Cohen, with the website and app built by Big Boat (Camden Vaughan). The App Store listing dates from 2022.
Each day the game picks a set of six featured letters from a fixed list, counting days from a start date, so everyone plays the same set. Your board has six word slots, and each word must begin with a different featured letter. You can use any other letters too, but only featured letters score: one point every time one appears, including repeats.
The top score of 33 is called a Smax, and every letter set has at least four ways to reach it. Scoring a Smax within three minutes earns a Golden Smax, and sharing a Smax shows the day's emoji. Words change colour by how well they score, and the game tracks your average score, average time, total Smaxes and Smax streak.
It suits players who like open-ended word building over guessing, whether they prefer to polish a perfect score through the day or play fast.
How to play Smixed
- Open Smixed to see the day's six featured letters.
- Type a word that starts with one of the featured letters into an empty slot.
- Fill all six slots, each beginning with a different featured letter.
- Pack your words with featured letters, since each use scores one point.
- Press submit to end the game and see your score and time.
Tips
- Long words full of repeated featured letters score best; a word like SAILING can earn several points on its own.
- Letters that are not featured are allowed but worth nothing, so keep them few.
- Use the shuffle button to see the featured letters in a new order when you are stuck.

Yes. The featured letters are chosen by the date, so all players get the same set on the same day.
What is a Smax?
