Fusele is a Wordle variant in which each of your seven guesses comes with a twist: one row makes you repeat a letter, another tells you only how close each letter is in the alphabet, another swaps yellow clues for reversed blue ones or hides them altogether. The daily puzzle and its order of twists are the same for every player.
About Fusele
Fusele is a word game by Toir, the maker of Splitle, Shiftle and Threadle, first released in January 2023. You are still hunting a five-letter word with green and yellow clues, but each row of the board has a twist, shown as an icon beside it, and the twists change from day to day.
Some twists change what you may type: one row makes you use a repeated letter, another fixes letters in place. Others change what the colours tell you. An alphabet row turns a letter orange when the answer's letter in that spot is within three places of it in the alphabet. A reversed row replaces yellow with blue, which means some other letter from your guess belongs in that square. A blind row simply drops the yellow tiles. The skill is planning your guesses around the rows ahead, using the generous rows to learn letters and the awkward ones to confirm them.
Every day there is a numbered daily, the same word and the same order of twists for everyone, and a separate Blind Fusele daily in which you cannot see the next row's twist until you get there. Unlimited and custom games are there for practice, and settings add shapes to the hints for colour-blind players.
It suits Wordle regulars who want more to think about: a game takes a few minutes longer, and the share grid shows how you handled each rule.
How to play Fusele
- Hover over or tap the icon beside each row to read its twist before you guess.
- Type a five-letter word that obeys the current row's rule and press enter.
- Read the clues as that row's twist defines them: green is still the right letter in the right spot.
- Carry what you learned down the board, saving the most helpful rows for when you need them.
- Find the word within seven rows, then share your daily result; try Blind Fusele for a second daily.
Tips
- Read all the twists first: knowing a blind row is coming tells you to gather letters early.
- On alphabet-distance rows, guess letters spread across the alphabet to narrow each spot fast.
- Turn on shapes for hint types in the settings if the extra colours get confusing.
