FOGGY Golf is a daily puzzle where you play one golf hole hidden in fog. Your clubs are chess pieces, each moving the ball the way that piece moves, and you try to find and reach the hole in as few strokes as possible. Each day's hole belongs to an 18-hole tournament with a par to beat.

About FOGGY Golf

FOGGY Golf is a small browser game by Seve Savoie Teruel of Reactvts, released in February 2025. Each day brings one hole on an 8x8 grid that starts covered in fog. You can only see the squares around your ball, so finding the flag is part of the puzzle.

Your clubs are chess pieces, and each shot moves the ball the way that piece moves. The queen goes up to 8 squares in any direction but can be used once; the king goes 1 square in any direction, also once; the bishop, knight and rook can each be used twice; and the pawn moves 1 square in a straight line and can be used 8 times. You click a square, and if one of your remaining clubs can reach it a line shows the shot and the usable clubs light up.

The terrain matters. On the fairway you see one square around you. In a bunker you can still shoot but cannot see around you. Water costs a stroke and sends you back to the last safe square, and trees block shots and drop the ball at the last safe square on its path.

The holes are made by hand and set by date, so everyone plays the same hole each day, and they run in tournaments of 18 holes, each with a par. You can step back to earlier days' holes, and there is a stats screen and achievements, such as finishing a full tournament or getting a hole-in-one. It plays at foggy.golf, on itch.io, and as a Windows download, and suits people who like chess puzzles or short exploration puzzles.

How to play FOGGY Golf

  1. Open foggy.golf to load today's hole, with its tournament number, hole number and par.
  2. Look at the squares you can see around the ball and pick a square to aim for.
  3. Click it: if a chess-piece club can reach it, the shot line appears and the usable clubs light up.
  4. Choose a club and shoot, watching out for bunkers, water and trees as the fog clears.
  5. Keep going until the ball drops in the hole, trying to match or beat par.

Tips

  • Save the queen and the king: each can be used only once, and the queen's long shot is often the finisher.
  • Pawns are plentiful (8 uses), so use them to scout short distances in the fog.
  • A bunker hides the squares around you, so avoid landing in one when you still need to see where to go.
  • Water costs a stroke and sends you back, so when the fog hides what is ahead, a short safe shot can beat a long blind one.
