FlashPopTiles tutorial: connect similar tiles, such as a purple and a blue circle, but not identical ones

FlashPopTiles is a daily tile-linking puzzle. Each tile shows a coloured shape, and you link tiles one after another, where each step must share something with the last (the same colour or the same shape) without being an exact copy. A move counter, timer and error count track your run, and a calendar holds earlier days.

About FlashPopTiles

FlashPopTiles puts a grid of tiles in front of you, each with a shape in a colour. You tap tiles to build a chain. The rule shown in the opening tutorial is that neighbouring links must be similar but not identical: a purple circle can connect to a blue circle (same shape) or to a purple triangle (same colour), but not to another purple circle. The puzzle is to find a chain that uses the tiles the board requires without getting stuck.

The top bar counts your moves, time and errors, and you can undo or reset. The boards are tied to dates: a calendar button lets you choose a day, and a statistics window keeps your record of daily results.

The site is free in the browser with no account required. It suits players who enjoy short visual logic puzzles where one wrong link early on can block the whole board.

How to play FlashPopTiles

  1. Open today's board and read the short tutorial.
  2. Tap a tile to start your chain.
  3. Tap a tile that matches the last one in colour or shape, but is not the same tile type.
  4. Keep linking until the board is complete; use Undo or Reset if you get stuck.
  5. Check your moves, time and errors in the statistics window.

Tips

  • Look for tiles with few possible partners and plan to visit them early.
  • Alternate between matching on colour and on shape to keep options open.
  • Use Undo instead of Reset when only the last few links went wrong.
  • Try earlier dates from the calendar to practise.
