Figure daily puzzle 1559: a five by five grid of coloured tiles with symbols and the line Clear everything in 8 moves

Figure is a daily tile-matching logic puzzle. You tap a tile in the bottom row and it disappears together with the touching tiles of the same colour, letting the tiles above drop down. The goal is to clear the whole grid within the day's move limit, with unlimited do-overs.

About Figure

Figure describes itself as the daily tile-matching puzzle game. Each numbered puzzle is a five by five grid of tiles in a few colours, each colour with its own symbol. You can only tap tiles in the bottom row; a tap removes that tile and the group of same-coloured tiles connected to it, and the tiles above fall into the gaps.

The challenge is the move limit: each puzzle says Clear everything in a set number of moves (eight for puzzle #1559). Because removing a group changes which colours end up touching after the drop, order matters, and the best plans merge colours into larger groups before clearing them. Do-overs are unlimited, and the game counts your tries, hints and time.

Results show your streak and can be copied and shared, there is a stats page, and a countdown shows when the next puzzle arrives. The site is available in English, Spanish, Chinese and Italian and is made by @sumul.

It suits players who like short planning puzzles with a satisfying chain reaction, somewhere between a falling-block game and a chess problem.

How to play Figure

  1. Look at the grid and the move limit for today's puzzle.
  2. Tap a tile in the bottom row to remove it and its connected tiles of the same colour.
  3. Tiles above fall down, forming new groups.
  4. Clear every tile within the move limit; restart as often as you like.

Tips

  • Plan backwards: think about which colour you want to clear last.
  • Remove small groups first so that larger same-coloured groups join up after the drop.
  • Avoid stranding a single tile of a colour; it will cost a whole move later.
  • Use a hint if you are stuck, but it is counted in your result.
