Drawdle
Rate itDraw the day's pixel picture with five-letter words whose Wordle colours match each row.
Every day: One six-row pixel drawing a day, the same for everyone, built on the previous day's Wordle answer: find a five-letter word for each row. New puzzle: Once a day.

Drawdle gives you a small pixel drawing in Wordle's green, yellow and grey, six rows of five squares. For each row you find a five-letter word whose colouring against the answer matches it. The answer is the previous day's Wordle word, so playing never spoils today's.
About Drawdle
Drawdle turns the Wordle colour grid into a drawing puzzle. Each day there is a six-row picture made of green, yellow and grey squares, a shape like a flower or a face. Each row stands for one guess: you have to find a real five-letter word that, scored against the answer, would come out in exactly that pattern of colours.
The answer word is yesterday's Wordle solution, so today's Wordle stays unspoiled, and when you finish the game lists the six words you could type into the real Wordle to draw the picture there yourself. A setting lets you choose whether the answer is shown to you or kept hidden.
The puzzle is the reverse of Wordle: you know what feedback you want and have to find a word that gives it. Rows with lots of green need words close to the answer; rows of grey need words that avoid its letters entirely; yellow squares need the right letters in the wrong places.
There is an Endless mode with more drawings, a puzzle archive, a leaderboard for signed-in players, and drawings suggested by players. Drawdle is a fan project, not connected with Wordle or The New York Times, and can be played in English or French.
How to play Drawdle
- Look at the day's six-row drawing of green, yellow and grey squares.
- For the first row, type a five-letter word whose colouring against the answer matches it.
- Submit: a match solves the row.
- Solve all six rows to complete the picture.
- Copy the words into the real Wordle if you want to draw it there.
Tips
- Start with the all-grey or nearly all-grey rows: any word without the answer's letters will do.
- For green squares, keep the answer's letter in that exact spot; for yellow, use one of its letters somewhere else.
- Duplicate letters behave as in Wordle, so watch rows where one letter is yellow and the same letter elsewhere is grey.
