OIYO's Tents and Trees card: a wooden board of grass and stone squares with green trees and orange tents placed beside them

Daily Tents and Trees is the classic tent placement logic puzzle on OIYO Arcade, with one daily board for everyone that has a single solution. Pair each tree with a tent next to it, never let two tents touch, and make every row and column count come out right.

About Daily Tents and Trees

Tents and Trees is a logic puzzle known from European puzzle magazines. A grid holds a scattering of trees, and every tree needs exactly one tent placed directly beside it, above, below, left or right. Tents may never touch each other, not even at a corner, and the numbers along the rows and columns say how many tents each line holds.

OIYO Arcade's version has a Daily Puzzle button beside a 5 by 5 free play mode and a Chaos mode. The daily board rolls over at midnight on your device's clock, everyone gets the same board that day, and each one is guaranteed to have exactly one solution.

Solving the daily on consecutive days grows a streak, and missing a day sets it back to one. Records are kept only in your browser, and there is a hint button if you get stuck.

The site can be read in English, Korean, Japanese, French, Spanish and Chinese, and it suits anyone who likes short deduction puzzles without guessing.

How to play Daily Tents and Trees

  1. Open the page and choose Daily Puzzle.
  2. Place a tent in a cell directly next to a tree; each tree gets exactly one.
  3. Make sure no two tents touch, including diagonally.
  4. Match the number of tents in each row and column to its clue.
  5. Fill the rest with grass as lines are completed until the board is solved.

Tips

  • Rows or columns with a count of zero become grass at once.
  • When a line has all its tents, mark its other cells as grass.
  • Start with trees that have only one free neighbour, then check that choice does not take another tree's only spot.
  • A tent rules out all eight cells around it.
