A solved Norinori grid with green shaded dominoes and red crosses in the empty cells

The Special Daily Norinori on puzzle-norinori.com is one large Norinori grid a day, the same for everyone. You shade exactly two cells in each outlined region, and every shaded cell must pair with one neighbour to form a domino that touches no other domino except at a corner.

About Daily Norinori

Norinori is a shading puzzle on a grid divided into regions. Every region ends up with exactly two shaded cells. Every shaded cell is part of a domino, a pair of shaded cells side by side, and a domino may cross from one region into the next. Dominoes may touch each other only at the corners, never along an edge. With just those three rules, small regions and narrow corridors decide most of the grid.

Puzzle-norinori.com has Normal and Hard grids from 6x6 to 20x20, plus Special Daily, Weekly and Monthly puzzles. The daily is one dated grid that every player gets that day, and it is larger than the regular sizes; on 2 October 2026 it was 30 by 30. Undo, redo and checkpoints help on a grid that size. The site shows ads, and patrons can remove them and reopen the last 30 daily puzzles.

Norinori suits players who enjoy Star Battle or Queens and want a different kind of no-touching rule, and anyone who likes a puzzle where a handful of tiny regions start a long chain of forced moves.

How to play Daily Norinori

  1. Open puzzle-norinori.com and choose Special Daily Norinori.
  2. Shade cells so that each outlined region contains exactly two shaded cells.
  3. Make sure every shaded cell sits next to exactly one other shaded cell, forming a domino; a domino may cross a region border.
  4. Keep dominoes apart: two dominoes may meet at a corner but never share an edge. Mark cells that must stay empty with an X.
  5. When the grid is complete, press Done (or Enter) to check it.

Tips

  • A region of two cells is fully shaded straight away, and every cell touching that domino along an edge stays empty.
  • Once a region has its two shaded cells, mark every other cell in it as empty, and close off the cells beside each finished domino too.
  • A shaded cell whose only open neighbour is in another region forces that neighbour, and with it one of the other region's two shaded cells.
  • Mark empty cells as you go; on a 30x30 grid the Xs are what keep the dominoes from bumping into each other.

Questions

Can a domino cross from one region into another?

Yes. The site's rules allow dominoes to cross region borders, as long as each region ends with exactly two shaded cells.

What time does the daily Norinori reset?

Midnight UTC. The daily is dated by the site's clock, which runs on UTC.

Is it free?

Yes, with ads. Patrons can remove the ads and go back through the last 30 daily puzzles.
