A solved LITS grid with coloured L, I, T and S shapes in each region

The Special Daily LITS on puzzle-lits.com is one large LITS grid a day, the same for every player. You shade a four-cell shape in each outlined region so that all the shading forms one connected area, no 2x2 block is fully shaded, and two matching shapes never touch along an edge.

About Daily LITS

LITS takes its name from four tetrominoes, the shapes made of four connected cells: L, I, T and S. In every outlined region you shade exactly one such shape. All the shaded cells across the grid must link into one connected area, no 2x2 square may be completely shaded, and two shapes of the same type may not touch side by side, with rotations and mirror images counting as the same type. The square O shape never appears, since it would break the 2x2 rule.

Puzzle-lits.com offers Normal and Hard grids from 6x6 to 20x20, along with the Special Daily, Weekly and Monthly puzzles. The daily is one dated grid that every player gets that day; on 2 October 2026 it was 30 by 30, which means dozens of regions to fill. The site shows ads, and patrons can remove them and go back through the last 30 daily puzzles.

LITS asks you to juggle shape, connection and neighbour rules at once, so it suits players who already enjoy Norinori or Star Battle and want a region puzzle with more to track. It also rewards anyone who likes spotting which shapes a small region can and cannot hold.

How to play Daily LITS

  1. Open puzzle-lits.com and choose Special Daily LITS.
  2. In each outlined region, shade exactly four connected cells forming an L, I, T or S shape.
  3. Avoid shading any full 2x2 square, and keep every shaded cell connected to the rest of the shading.
  4. Do not let two shapes of the same type touch along an edge; a rotated or mirrored copy counts as the same type.
  5. When every region has its shape, press Done (or Enter) to check the grid.

Tips

  • A region of exactly four cells is already its own shape; shade it, then check which type it is so its neighbours avoid matching it.
  • Cells that every possible shape in a region must use can be shaded at once, even before you know the shape.
  • Watch the connection rule: a region whose only link to the rest of the shading runs through one narrow spot forces shading there.
  • Wherever three cells of a 2x2 square are shaded, the fourth must stay empty.

Questions

Why is there no square O shape?

The site's rules point out that the O tetromino is a 2x2 block, and fully shaded 2x2 blocks are not allowed, so only L, I, T and S are used.

When does the daily LITS change?

At midnight UTC, following the date on the site's clock, which runs on UTC.

Is it free?

Yes, with ads. Patrons can remove the ads and reopen the last 30 daily puzzles.
