About Daily Knot

Daily Knot is a planar untangle puzzle. The board is a set of dots joined by straight lines that cross each other in a tangle. You drag the dots to new places, and the lines follow; when no two lines cross anywhere, the knot is solved. There is nothing else to learn.

Everyone in the world gets the exact same knot each day, and a fresh one arrives at midnight in your own time zone. Difficulty ramps across the week, from Gentle on Monday to Fiendish on Sunday. Your time is measured against par and earns up to five stars, named Untangled, Tidy, Sharp, Swift and Flawless, and a spoiler-free card lets you share stars and time.

A streak counts the days you solve, and freezes cover a day you miss. A Game Center leaderboard ranks each day's times, but Game Center is optional and there is no account. The daily knot and unlimited Warm-up practice are free with no ads and no tracking, and the app works offline. Knot+, a one-time purchase, unlocks harder practice levels.

Daily Knot came out in June 2026 and was the first of a set of single-puzzle daily apps by the same maker, collected on dailyknot.app, including Daily Circuit, Daily Loop and Daily Lumen.

How to play Daily Knot

1. Open the app and press Play today's knot.
2. Look for the lines that cross.
3. Drag a dot to a new spot; its lines move with it.
4. Keep moving dots until no two lines cross anywhere.
5. See your stars and time against par, share the result and come back tomorrow.

Tips

• Pull the dots out into a wide circle first, then sort out the crossings one by one.
• Dots with only two lines are easy to tuck between their neighbours; place the busiest dots first.
• Look for triangles: three dots joined to each other can be placed as a block.
• Monday's Gentle knot is a good day to start a streak.
