Daily Akari
Place lights so every square is lit and every numbered block is happy.
Every day: One numbered Akari (Light Up) puzzle a day, the same for every player, chosen from grids sent in by puzzle authors, with an archive of earlier numbers. New puzzle: Midnight in your local time.

Daily Akari serves one Light Up puzzle a day, numbered and the same for everyone. You place lights in a grid of white squares and black blocks so that every white square is lit, no light shines on another, and each numbered block has exactly that many lights beside it.
About Daily Akari
Akari, also called Light Up, is a logic puzzle created by the Japanese publisher Nikoli. Daily Akari, made by Singfisher Games, gives it a friendly face: the black blocks smile when they have the right number of lights next to them, and lit squares change colour so you can see what is covered.
A light shines along its row and column until it hits a block or the edge of the grid. Two lights may never shine on each other, every white square must end up lit, and a block with a number needs exactly that many lights on its four sides. There is a right-click (or long press) to mark a square where no light can go, and the game shows which lights you placed most recently.
Each day's puzzle is numbered and is the same for every player; the grids come from puzzle authors around the world who have allowed the site to use them, and each is credited. Past puzzles are in an archive where their authors have agreed. It suits anyone who likes sudoku-style logic but wants something different, and the grids range from gentle to tough.
How to play Daily Akari
- Open today's numbered puzzle.
- Tap or click a white square to place a light; it lights its row and column up to the nearest block.
- Give each numbered block exactly that many lights on its four sides, so it turns happy.
- Never let one light shine on another; mark squares that cannot hold a light with an X.
- Finish when every block is happy and every white square is lit.
Tips
- Start with blocks marked 4, or 3 against an edge: their lights are forced.
- A block marked 0 means none of its neighbours can hold a light; mark them all with X at once.
- A white square that only one possible light can reach tells you where that light must go.
