Crossflip (Puzzmallow)

Flip letter tiles to uncover words that fit the day's theme.

Every day: One numbered, themed Crossflip a day (Daily #264 in early October 2026), the same for every player: flip double-sided tiles so every word in the grid fits the theme, in as few flips as you can. Past puzzles are in an archive. New puzzle: Once a day; the site does not state the time.

A Crossflip daily grid of letter tiles shaped like a small crossword, with the theme above and a flip counter and par

Crossflip is a daily themed word puzzle from Puzzmallow. A small crossword-shaped grid is made of tiles with a letter on each side, and every row and column can spell two words: one that fits the day's theme and an unrelated decoy. You flip tiles until all the theme words show, aiming to match the par for flips.

About Crossflip (Puzzmallow)

Crossflip is one of the daily puzzles on Puzzmallow, the site that also makes Quickflip, Wordspan, Pipcross and Terraformation. Each day brings a numbered puzzle with a theme written above the grid, sometimes with a twist: one October 2026 puzzle asked for the months spelled without vowels.

The grid looks like a small crossword, but every square is a tile with a different letter on each side. Each across and down entry can therefore spell two words. One belongs to the theme and the other is a decoy chosen to look plausible. Flipping a tile where two words cross changes both of them, so the puzzle is about finding the order of flips that turns every entry into a theme word.

The game counts your flips and shows a par for the day, so a clean solve means working out the answer before you touch a tile. A timer can be shown, the site keeps your stats and win streak, and earlier puzzles can be played from the archive.

It suits players who enjoy themed word puzzles like Strands but want a little planning in the mix, and anyone who has played Quickflip and wants a longer puzzle on the same idea.

How to play Crossflip (Puzzmallow)

  1. Open Crossflip on puzzmallow.com and read the day's theme above the grid.
  2. Look at each row and column: it can spell a theme word or a decoy.
  3. Tap a tile to flip it to the letter on its other side.
  4. Keep flipping until every entry in the grid is a word that fits the theme.
  5. Try to finish in no more flips than the par shown at the top.

Tips

  • Solve on paper first: find each theme word before flipping anything.
  • Start with crossings, since one flip there fixes or breaks two words.
  • Read the theme closely; a twist like missing vowels changes what a word looks like.
