Bibdle for Friday, October 2, 2026: a Bible passage (Joshua ending as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord) above the prompt What book of the Bible is this verse from? and a box to type a book

Bibdle shows one Bible passage a day and asks which book it is from. Each wrong guess tells you whether you have the right testament, section and first letter, so you can narrow down the 66 books. Name the book and you can guess the chapter for a higher grade.

About Bibdle

Bibdle is a daily Bible guessing game in the Wordle mould. Each day has one passage, the same for every player and also published in the site's RSS feed. On 2 October 2026 it was Joshua's farewell, ending with 'as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord'.

You type the name of a book. Each guess is laid out against four columns: Testament, Section, First Letter and Book, so a miss still tells you whether you are in the Old or New Testament, in the right group of books, and whether the name starts with the right letter. You finish with a grade, and once you have the book a bonus round asks for the chapter for a higher grade still.

The site also has an Imposter Mode, where you click the verse that does not belong, and a progress page for signed-in players that tracks which books you have explored and mastered. Players with an account can submit a verse for a future day.

Bibdle is a project by George Powell and Silent Summit Co. It is free and says it will stay ad-free; a support link helps fund it.

How to play Bibdle

  1. Open Bibdle and read the day's passage.
  2. Type the name of the book you think it comes from and submit.
  3. Read the feedback for testament, section and first letter.
  4. Guess again, using what matched to narrow the books down.
  5. Once you have the book, try the bonus chapter guess for a higher grade.
  6. Share your result, with or without a snippet of the verse.

Tips

  • Settle the testament first; it halves the field in one guess.
  • Know the sections, such as the Law, the Prophets, the Gospels and the Epistles, so one guess can rule out a whole group.
  • Names, places and the style of the passage often point to a section before a book.
  • The new verse arrives at midnight on your device's clock, so a streak counts by your own day.
