Babushka
Rate itName something bigger than your doll and nest the set, one list a day, three minutes on the clock.
Every day: A new ranked list every day, the same for everyone (one day countries by population, another video games that sold 25 million copies or more), with one three-minute run to nest as many dolls as you can. New puzzle: Midnight, the player's local time.

Babushka is a daily nesting-doll trivia game from mayhex.gg. Each day brings one ranked list, such as countries by population or best-selling video games, and you have three minutes to name items that rank above your current doll. Every correct name adds a piece to your set, so the aim is to climb in small steps and build the biggest set before the clock runs out.
About Babushka
Babushka is a free browser game by Mayhex, a solo developer in Toronto who makes daily games at mayhex.gg. It takes the idea of Russian nesting dolls and turns it into a quick trivia run against the clock.
Each day the game picks one list with a number behind every entry: countries by population on one day, video games that sold 25 million copies or more on another, with the source and date shown under the title. You start with a single doll labelled with one item from the list and its number. Type the name of something on the list with a bigger number, and a new doll opens, your set jumps inside, and the clock pauses for a moment. Name something too small and your set bounces off while the clock keeps running; that lost time is the only penalty.
You get one run a day, three minutes long, and the same list as every other player. Your score is the number of pieces in your set, so the trick is to climb in small steps rather than jump straight to the top: naming the biggest item on the list ends the run, since nothing can beat it. After the run you can share your result, and the game keeps a day streak in your browser.
There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no ads, and progress stays on your device. A new list arrives at midnight in your own time zone. Babushka suits players who like list games such as naming a hidden top 100 or ordering items by a statistic, and who want something that takes three minutes.
How to play Babushka
- Open the game and read the day's list title, for example countries by population.
- Look at your first doll: it shows one item from the list and its number.
- Type the name of an item on the list with a bigger number and press Enter.
- If it fits, the new doll opens, your set gains a piece and the clock pauses briefly; if it is too small, it bounces off and the clock keeps running.
- Keep climbing until the three minutes run out or you choose End run, then share your set size.

Tips
- Climb in small steps: every fit adds one piece whatever the gap, so a name only a little bigger than your doll is worth as much as a big leap.
- Keep the item you know is at the top of the list for last, since naming it ends your run.
- A wrong guess costs only time, so when you are unsure, try a name you think is close above your doll rather than one far above it.
