Zeldle is a daily guessing game set in The Legend of Zelda series, made in France. Each day there is a mystery character, item, game and sword, and every guess shows which of its traits match the answer.

About Zeldle

Zeldle is a fan-made -dle for the Zelda series, built by a French freelance developer and available in French and English. Each day a new element is picked at random for each mode, and you have a limited number of attempts, shown as hearts, to find it.

The character mode compares your guess with the answer on traits such as the game of origin, race and role in the story. The item mode uses type, colour and where the item is found. The game mode asks you to identify one of the Zelda games from its release year, platform, sales and rating. The sword mode covers the series' blades, with clues about appearance, origin and the game they appear in. Green means correct, orange partly correct and red wrong.

A countdown shows the time until the next puzzle at midnight, and you can see yesterday's answers. The site is free, needs no account and shows ads only after you accept them in the cookie banner. It is not affiliated with Nintendo.

How to play Zeldle

  1. Pick a mode: character, item, game or sword.
  2. Search for an answer and submit it.
  3. Read the colours: green is correct, orange partly correct, red wrong.
  4. Use the clues to narrow the field before your hearts run out.
  5. Come back after midnight for new puzzles and keep your streak going.

Tips

  • In the game mode, release year and platform narrow things down quickly.
  • For characters, settle the game of origin first, since many characters appear in only one.
  • Swords often reuse names across games, so look closely at the origin clue.
  • Check yesterday's answers to learn how the site labels its data.
