XRDICA
Crack a number cipher row by row, where every solved letter helps the other words.
Every day: One coded grid of words a day, the same for everyone, where each number stands for a letter and you decode every row. New puzzle: Midnight local time.

XRDICA (said zirdica) is a daily word-decoding puzzle. Each letter of the alphabet has been swapped for a number, and the grid shows several hidden words written only in those numbers. You guess letters, check them, and keep your score low by typing less and finishing faster.
About XRDICA
XRDICA is a small web puzzle in the codeword family. Each day it builds a grid of hidden words in which every letter has been replaced by a number, and the same number always stands for the same letter anywhere on the board. The daily puzzle is the same for everyone, and a calendar archive lets you go back to earlier days.
You click a tile, type the letter you think it hides, and press Enter to check every filled tile at once. Correct letters turn green, lock in and fill that number everywhere in the grid; wrong ones turn red and clear on your next move. The game starts with a few rows and adds a new word at the bottom every 50 points, up to ten rows, and you finish when every row is solved.
What sets it apart is the golf-style score: every key press and every five seconds adds a point, and every correct letter takes one away, so careful guesses beat rapid typing. A pause button and auto-pause stop the clock when you step away, and an easy mode gives you a few free letters to start. It suits players who like codewords and cryptograms but want something they can finish in a few minutes.
How to play XRDICA
- Click a numbered tile and type the letter you think that number stands for.
- Fill in as many tiles as you like, then press Enter to check them all at once.
- Green letters are right and appear wherever that number is used; red ones are wrong and clear on your next action.
- Use the solved letters to work out the remaining words, as new rows join every 50 points.
- Finish all rows with as low a score as you can, then share your result.
Tips
- Think before you type: each key press costs a point, while each correct letter earns one back.
- Start with short words or ones with repeated numbers, which have fewer possible spellings.
- A letter you try in one row shows as a faint hint wherever the same number appears in the others.
- Use Pause if you need a break; the clock also stops when you switch tabs.
