About XO Math Puzzles

XO Math Puzzles runs inside the r/XO_Math_Puzzles community and was built for players who wanted numbers rather than letters among Reddit's daily games. It holds five games, each in easy, medium and hard.

KenKen asks you to fill a grid so no number repeats in a row or column while every outlined cage reaches its target with its operation. Math Maze has you trace a path through a grid of numbers and operators from one corner to the other so the expression hits the target. Cross Math is a grid of interlocking equations with numbers missing. Math Match is a memory game where you turn over cards and pair them by sum, product or difference. Fence It! splits a grid into fenced regions whose cells add up to a set value.

The daily is a single post each morning, titled with the date, the game and the difficulty, so the game changes from day to day: a hard KenKen one day, an easy Math Maze the next. Your first solve of it earns a bonus on top of the usual XP, and XP moves you through fifteen ranks in five tiers from Delta to Omega. There are weekly and all-time leaderboards, and players can design their own KenKen, Math Maze and Cross Math puzzles and post them for others.

It suits anyone who does KenKen or Nerdle and wants a quick, varied arithmetic workout each day.

How to play XO Math Puzzles

1. Open today's Puzzle of the Day post in r/XO_Math_Puzzles and press Solve Now.
2. Read which of the five games it is and its difficulty.
3. Solve it: fill the KenKen or Cross Math grid, trace the Math Maze path, pair the Math Match cards or fence the regions.
4. Submit to record your time and collect the daily bonus XP.
5. Check the leaderboards, or play the other four games and community puzzles.

Tips

• In KenKen, start with single-cell cages and cages whose target allows only one set of numbers.
• In Math Maze, work back from the target as well as forward from the start.
• Use notes mode in KenKen to keep track of candidates instead of guessing.
