WordTwiq home: Find the twin words, with the example SHORE and SCORE where H changes to C

WordTwiq is a daily word game with two answers that are almost the same word: four letters match and one changes, as in SHORE and SCORE. Every guess gives clues for both words at once, and you have seven guesses in total. A new pair unlocks each day at midnight UTC, with an archive back to 1 January 2026.

About WordTwiq

WordTwiq is a free browser word game by DFRANKIEJ PRODUCTIONS. It has no ads, can be installed as an app and plays offline once the puzzles are cached.

Each day hides two five-letter words that share four letters in the same places and differ in just one, such as TWINS and TWIGS or STOWS and SLOWS. You type five-letter guesses as in Wordle, and each guess is scored against both hidden words at once. Seven guesses are shared between the two answers.

When you find one of the words, a bridge locks its four shared letters in place for the other, so the last step is working out which single letter changes. A new puzzle unlocks at midnight UTC for everyone. There is an archive starting on 1 January 2026, unlimited practice, a daily leaderboard and optional Google sign-in to sync progress.

It suits Wordle and Dordle players who want a twist where the two answers are linked, and the one-letter difference rewards thinking about which positions are likely to vary.

Tips

  • Clues that differ between the two boards point straight at the position that changes.
  • Pairs often differ in a common swap such as R and C or N and G, so try likely alternatives in the changing slot.
  • Do not spend guesses on the second word's shared letters; the bridge already holds them.
