WordReels is a daily five-letter word game where you do not type: each position is a spinning reel holding a few letters, and you scroll the reels until a word sits on the centre line. After each try the letters turn green, yellow or grey as in Wordle. You get six attempts, and the same puzzle goes out to everyone at midnight UTC.

About WordReels

WordReels is a free browser word game with no ads. Its twist on the Wordle formula is the input: instead of a keyboard, each of the five letter positions is a reel holding a small set of letters, so the possible answers are limited to what the reels can spell.

You swipe or tap the arrows on each reel to scroll through its letters, line them up on the centre selection line and tap Check Word. Every guess must be a real word and gets per-letter feedback: green for right letter and place, yellow for in the word but elsewhere, grey for not in it. A Peek option shows all the letters on the focused reel.

Scoring rewards solving early: every unused attempt adds 60 points. Other words you can spell along the way count as bonus words worth 50 points and coins, but each one uses up one of your six attempts. The daily word changes at 00:00 UTC for everyone, and signing in syncs your streak and puts you on a global leaderboard. A practice mode has endless puzzles at four, five or six letters, with hints bought with coins.

It suits Wordle players who want a more hands-on puzzle, since the reels narrow the options and turn each guess into a small unscrambling job.

How to play WordReels

  1. Open wordreels.net to load today's Daily Challenge.
  2. Swipe or tap the arrows on each reel to scroll through its letters.
  3. Line up a word on the centre selection line and tap Check Word.
  4. Read the green, yellow and grey feedback and adjust the reels.
  5. Solve the five-letter word within six attempts; fewer attempts score more.

Tips

  • Use Peek to see every letter on a reel before guessing; the reels hold only a few options each.
  • Skip bonus words if you want the best score, since each one costs an attempt.
  • Start with the reels that have the fewest letters; they pin down the word fastest.
