Wordonomics daily round: eleven blank tiles, a 100 dollar budget, and the letter market with a price under each letter

Wordonomics is a daily word game about spending. You start each word with a $100 budget and see only blank tiles; you can buy letters, pay for the first, last or a random letter, or just guess. Wrong guesses cost $10, and your score is the money you have left when you solve it.

About Wordonomics

Wordonomics turns guessing a word into a small budgeting problem. Each round shows a row of blank tiles for a word of a given length and gives you $100. Everyone gets the same Daily word, chosen by the UTC date, and an Unlimited mode lets you keep playing other words.

You can buy a letter from the letter market, which reveals every copy of it in the word or marks it as not in the word; prices vary by letter. There are also fixed-price reveals: a random guaranteed letter ($22), the last letter ($20) and the first letter ($24). At any point you can tap a blank tile and type a full guess, but a wrong guess costs $10. You can also give up and reveal the word.

Your result is the budget you have left, so the skill is knowing when you have enough information to guess. Daily results go to leaderboards, history tracks every word you have played, and you can share a challenge link so a friend plays the same word and tries to finish with more money.

It suits players who like hangman and Wheel of Fortune style letter buying, with a scoring twist that rewards bold guesses. Signing in is optional and saves history and stats across devices.

How to play Wordonomics

  1. Open wordonomics.com and play the Daily word, starting with $100.
  2. Buy a letter to reveal every copy of it, or pay for the first, last or a random letter.
  3. Tap a blank tile and type a full guess when you think you know the word.
  4. Avoid wrong guesses, which cost $10 each.
  5. Solve the word with as much budget left as you can, then share your result.

Tips

  • Cheap common letters often reveal the word's shape for less than a fixed reveal.
  • The first letter is the priciest reveal; buy it only if the pattern is still wide open.
  • Guess as soon as one word fits the pattern: each extra purchase lowers your score.

Questions

Is the daily word the same for everyone?

Yes. The daily word is picked from the UTC date, and results go on shared leaderboards.

How is the score worked out?

You start with $100; purchases and wrong guesses ($10 each) reduce it, and whatever is left when you solve is your score.

Can I play more than one word a day?

Yes. Unlimited mode gives more words, separate from the daily.

Do I need an account?

No. Signing in is optional and saves your history and stats across devices.
