WordBridge
Connect two words in the shortest chain of related words.
Every day: One Daily Challenge for everyone: connect the start word to the target word through a chain of related words, in as few steps as possible. New puzzle: Once a day.

WordBridge is a free word chain puzzle by Daniel Elgallab. Each daily challenge gives a start word and a target, such as SUN to SHARK, and you type intermediate words that logically link them, like SKY, BLUE and OCEAN, aiming for the shortest chain. Practice and multiplayer modes sit alongside.
About WordBridge
WordBridge asks you to build a bridge of meaning between two words. The Daily Challenge sets the same start and target words for everyone, and you type words in between that each connect sensibly to the one before, until you reach the target. The example on its share card runs SUN, SKY, BLUE, OCEAN, SHARK.
The goal is the shortest possible chain: fewer steps make a better score, so the skill lies in finding strong, direct associations rather than long detours.
Beyond the daily there is a Practice mode with unlimited puzzles and a Multiplayer mode for racing friends. It is free in the browser.
It suits players who like association games such as Linxicon and word-golf puzzles.
How to play WordBridge
- Read the day's start word and target word.
- Type a word that connects logically to the start word.
- Keep adding linked words, each related to the last.
- Reach the target word in as few steps as you can.
Tips
- Think of a bridge concept that touches both ends, then fill in around it.
- Colours, places and categories make good stepping stones.
- Shorter chains score better: aim for big jumps that still make sense.
