WordAxle
Rate itGuess a 4, a 5 and a 6-letter word stacked on one axle, with Wordle colours and a bonus axle guess.
Every day: One puzzle a day, the same for everyone: three stacked across words of four, five and six letters, crossed by a seven-letter axle word whose alternate letters are shown from the start. New puzzle: Midnight local time (the new day's puzzle unlocks as soon as the date has changed somewhere on Earth).

WordAxle is a daily word puzzle of three hidden words stacked top to bottom, four, five and six letters long, with a seven-letter axle word running down through all of them. You guess each across word with Wordle-style colour hints, and one free shot at the axle can reveal extra letters. Your score is the total number of guesses.
About WordAxle
WordAxle lays out a small cross of tiles. A vertical axle of seven letters runs down the middle, and three across words hang from it: a four-letter word at the top, then a five, then a six. Some axle letters are shown before you start; on 6 October 2026 the board opened with A, A, T and R standing on the axle between the empty rows.
You solve the across words in order. Each guess is a real word, and its tiles turn green for a right letter in the right spot, yellow for a right letter in the wrong spot and grey for a letter not in the word. Solving an across word fills in the letter it shares with the axle, so the axle slowly comes into view.
At any point you can take one shot at the whole axle word. A miss costs nothing. A hit reveals every axle letter and lets you test up to three letters against the across word you are working on, to see which are in it. Choosing when to spend that shot is most of the strategy.
The score is the total number of guesses, and fewer is better. Signing in is optional: it saves your results and stats, opens unlimited practice rounds and lets you share results in channels with friends.
How to play WordAxle
- Look at the axle running down the middle and the letters it already shows.
- Type a four-letter word for the top row and read the colours: green is right letter and spot, yellow is in the word elsewhere, grey is not in it.
- Keep guessing until the top word is solved; its crossing letter joins the axle.
- Do the same for the five-letter word and then the six-letter word.
- Whenever you like, tap Guess the axle word for one free try at the seven-letter word; if you are right, pick up to three letters to test against your current across word.
- Finish all three words in as few guesses as you can and share your total.

Tips
- The axle letters already shown fix one letter of each across word: start from words that fit them.
- Try the axle once you have two or three of its letters; the reveal is worth most while words are still unsolved.
- Spend the three bonus letter checks on common letters you have not tested yet.
