Twiggit
Find the day's mystery thing with twenty yes or no questions.
Every day: One mystery subject a day, the same for everyone on that date: a person, place, object, animal, character or idea to identify with up to 20 yes or no questions. New puzzle: Midnight, local time.

Twiggit is a daily game of twenty questions. Everyone gets the same mystery for the date, which could be a person, a place, an object, an animal, a fictional character or a concept, and you narrow it down by asking up to 20 yes or no questions. Guesses are free, and up to three hints unlock as you go.
About Twiggit
Twiggit takes its name from the British slang to twig, meaning to suddenly work something out. Each day there is one mystery, the same for everyone on that calendar date, and a new one unlocks at midnight in your own time zone. It could be almost anything well known: a person, a place, an object, an animal, a food or drink, a fictional character, an organisation, an event or a concept.
You type questions that can be answered yes or no, such as whether it is alive, man-made or bigger than a car. Each question gets one short answer: yes or no, generally, sometimes, irrelevant, or too specific when answering would give the game away. Open questions like where is it or what colour is it cannot be answered, and the game asks you to rephrase them without counting them against your 20.
When you think you know, you can guess as often as you like for free while questions remain. Use all 20 and you get one final guess before the answer is revealed. Up to three optional hints unlock as you use questions, and they do not cost anything. Solving keeps your streak going; missing a day ends it. No account is needed, and progress is saved in the browser.
Twiggit suits players who enjoy classic twenty questions and logical narrowing down more than recall of a single fact.
How to play Twiggit
- Open twiggit.co.uk to see today's Twiggit.
- Ask a question that can be answered yes or no, such as Is it alive?
- Read the short answer: yes, no, generally, sometimes, irrelevant or too specific.
- Keep asking to narrow the field, and use one of the three hints if you get stuck.
- Tap I think I know it to guess at any time; wrong guesses are free.
- Solve it within 20 questions to keep your streak.
Tips
- Start broad: alive or not, man-made or natural, real or fictional.
- Split the field in half with each question rather than testing one specific guess.
- If you get irrelevant, the property does not matter for this subject; move on to a different line.
- Guess as soon as you have a candidate, since guesses do not use up questions.
