Celeble
Find the day's mystery celebrity in ten guesses from birth year, birthplace and field clues.
Every day: One mystery celebrity a day, the same for everyone: find them in ten guesses from feedback on birth year, birthplace, field, gender and whether they are alive. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

Celeble is a daily celebrity guessing game. Each day there is one hidden famous person, from music, film, sport, politics or elsewhere, and you have ten guesses. Every guess is compared with the answer on birth year, birthplace, field and subfield, gender and whether they are alive, with yellow marking a near miss.
About Celeble
Celeble works like the attribute-matching -dle games, applied to famous people of every kind. You type the name of any celebrity, and the game lines up your guess against the hidden one. Each column turns green for a match, yellow for a close or partial match, such as a birth year within five years or a birthplace nearby, and grey otherwise.
The columns cover birth year, birthplace, the person's broad field, like music, film, sport or politics, a narrower subfield such as rapper or composer, gender, and whether they are still alive. You have ten guesses to land on the right name, and the facts come from open sources such as Wikidata and Wikipedia. When the day is done, a short piece of trivia about the person appears, and past answers are kept on archive pages.
The puzzle changes at midnight UTC and is the same for everyone. Guesses, streaks and stats are stored in your browser, so no account is needed.
Celeble suits players who follow celebrities across many fields rather than only one, and who like narrowing down a person from facts.
How to play Celeble
- Open celeble.io and type the name of any famous person.
- Read the feedback: green is a match, yellow is close, grey is wrong.
- Use birth year, birthplace, field, subfield, gender and alive status to narrow the field.
- Keep guessing until you find the celebrity, within ten tries.
- Share your result and come back after midnight UTC.
Tips
- Start with someone well known in a broad field to find the right domain first.
- A yellow birth year means within five years; a few guesses can pin the decade.
- Once the field is green, switch to people from the same field to work on subfield and birthplace.
- Alive status alone can rule out many historic names early.
