Temaciak is a daily Polish word game in the style of hangman. Five hidden words share one theme, and you guess letters; a right letter appears in every word at once, and a wrong one costs one of your five lives. Vowels cost a life until all the consonants are found.

About Temaciak (Łamaniec)

Temaciak is one of the daily games on Łamaniec, the Polish puzzle site that also runs Kropki, Kraciak, Literada and Fraziak. Each day it hides five Polish words that share a theme, and the puzzle is the same for every player.

You play by guessing letters on the keyboard. A letter that is in the puzzle is revealed in all five words at once, which makes every good guess count several times. A letter that is not there takes away one of your five lives. Vowels are marked with a purple outline: guessing one costs a life until every consonant has been found, so the game pushes you to work from the consonants first.

As the words fill in, the theme becomes clearer, and the theme in turn helps with the gaps.

It suits Polish speakers who like hangman and themed word puzzles, and learners who want a short daily vocabulary game.

How to play Temaciak (Łamaniec)

  1. Look at the five empty words and their lengths.
  2. Guess a consonant; if it is there, it appears in every word.
  3. Avoid wrong letters: each one costs one of your five lives.
  4. Remember vowels cost a life until all consonants are revealed.
  5. Use the emerging theme to fill in the last letters.

Tips

  • Start with common Polish consonants such as N, R, Z, W and S.
  • Work out the theme early; it narrows every word at once.
  • Save vowels for last, when they are free.
