SpellSweep daily board: a 5x5 grid of letter tiles with a wildcard ? tile in the centre, score 0, perfect 5, par 8 and covered 0/25

SpellSweep is a free daily word puzzle from RMLP. You trace words through adjacent letters on a 5x5 board, and every tile you use counts as covered. The goal is to cover all 25 tiles in as few words as possible, measured against the day's perfect score and par.

About SpellSweep

SpellSweep is a browser word game published under the RMLP puzzle name. Each day a numbered board of 25 letter tiles appears, the same for everyone that date.

You build a word by selecting tiles that touch each other, then submit it. Each valid word covers the tiles it used, and some boards include a wildcard tile that you set to any letter. The score counts how many words you used, so fewer is better: the page shows the perfect score, the fewest words that can cover the board, and a more forgiving par.

When all 25 tiles are covered, you can share your result. A reveal button shows an answer if you give up, which ends your run. A short tutorial explains the rules the first time.

It is a word search turned inside out: instead of finding listed words, you choose long words that sweep up awkward letters. It suits players who like Boggle-style boards with a tidy daily target.

How to play SpellSweep

  1. Open SpellSweep to load today's 5x5 board.
  2. Select adjacent tiles to spell a word, then press Submit word.
  3. Each accepted word covers the tiles it used.
  4. Keep adding words until all 25 tiles are covered.
  5. Compare your word count with the perfect score and par, then share your result.

Tips

  • Look for long words that pass through awkward letters in corners first.
  • Count the uncovered tiles before each word and aim to sweep up as many as possible at once.
  • Use the wildcard on a letter that unlocks a long word rather than a short one.
