SpaceWord
Lay the day's 21 letter tiles into a connected crossword that takes up as little space as you can.
Every day: A dated rack of 21 letter tiles, the same for everyone, with a live leaderboard for the day. New puzzle: Once a day; the game list shows how many hours are left on the current daily.

SpaceWord hands everyone the same 21 letter tiles each day. You arrange them into a connected grid of words reading across and down, and your score rises with every tile used and with how compact the layout is. A live leaderboard ranks your best score against other players, and there are longer weekly and monthly puzzles too.
About SpaceWord
SpaceWord is a browser word game about building a small crossword from a fixed set of letter tiles. Each daily puzzle is dated and gives every player the same 21 tiles, so scores can be compared directly.
You drag tiles onto a grid to form valid words horizontally and vertically, all joined into one connected block. The score is the number of tiles placed times 100, plus a bonus for using little space, so the goal is to fit in as many tiles as possible while keeping the layout tight. You can keep reworking a puzzle until it closes, and the game remembers your best solution so you can go back to it.
Alongside the daily there is a weekly puzzle with 63 tiles and a monthly one with 100, each with its own time limit and ranking. An anonymous account is created when you play so your scores count on the leaderboard; logging in lets you pick a username and keep scores across devices. The site shows ads.
It suits players who enjoy Bananagrams or Scrabble-style tile placement and like chipping away at a better score over a day rather than solving once.
How to play SpaceWord
- Open SpaceWord and pick the Daily puzzle from the list.
- Drag letter tiles from the rack onto the grid to spell words across and down.
- Keep every word connected in one block and check that each word is valid.
- Rearrange the layout to use more tiles in less space, watching the score and rank at the top.
- Come back before the timer runs out to improve your best score.
Tips
- Using every tile is worth more than a tiny layout, so place all 21 first and then tighten.
- Short words that cross in both directions pack letters closely.
- Use the menu to restore your best solution if an experiment makes things worse.
