Silly Little Codes
Rate itCrack one hand-made rebus a day: pictures and letters that spell a phrase.
Every day: One numbered rebus, a code to crack, released daily at midnight and the same for every player. New puzzle: Midnight (the makers say a new code is released daily at midnight).

Silly Little Codes shows one rebus a day, a small square of pictures, arrows, numbers and words that together spell out a phrase. You type your answer with unlimited guesses, or reveal it if you are stuck. A new code is released each day at midnight.
About Silly Little Codes
Silly Little Codes is a daily rebus game from Silly Little Games, a small studio that also makes Silly Little Letters, Words, Mimes and Mix-Ups. Each puzzle is a green card of icons, words and symbols to read as sounds and positions: a plane minus an L, the word your repeated four times, a turn arrow, a 2 and a pear beside a T, to be turned back into a phrase.
The game's line is to interpret a puzzle to crack the code. You type guesses until you get it, with no limit on tries, and a magnifying glass in the corner reveals the answer if you would rather see it. The game keeps your solve percentage and your longest streak, and puzzles are numbered so players can compare.
The makers say every puzzle is made by hand and tested by them rather than generated. It runs in the browser as a small app and needs no account. It suits players who like wordplay and lateral thinking more than letter-guessing games.
How to play Silly Little Codes
- Open playsillylittlegames.com/codes to load the day's code.
- Study the picture: each icon, word, number or arrow stands for a sound or a word.
- Read the parts in order, including where they sit and how many there are.
- Type your guess for the phrase; guesses are unlimited.
- If you are stuck, use the magnifying glass to reveal the answer.
Tips
- Say each part out loud: rebuses work on sounds, not spelling.
- Count repeated words: four of something is often for, or four.
- Position matters: a word above, inside or after another changes the reading.
- A minus sign with a letter means take that letter away from the picture's word.
