Shikaku of the Day
Divide the day's grid into rectangles so each holds one number equal to its area, at five difficulty levels.
Every day: Five dated Shikaku grids a day, from Easy to Master, the same for every player. New puzzle: Once a day (each puzzle carries its date in its code, such as EASY261002).

Shikaku of the Day offers a fresh Shikaku puzzle every day at five levels: Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert and Master. You split the grid into rectangles and squares so that each contains exactly one number and covers that many cells. A timer runs while you solve.
About Shikaku of the Day
Shikaku of the Day is a free browser site for the Japanese logic puzzle Shikaku, created by Ciesukki, who also makes the word games Rabbel and WordWavr. Each day it publishes five puzzles, one per difficulty, and each carries a code with the level and date, so everyone plays the same grids.
The rules are short. The grid holds scattered numbers, and you divide the whole grid into rectangles (squares count) so that every rectangle contains exactly one number and its area in cells equals that number. There can be no gaps and no overlaps.
On a computer you click and drag between two corners to draw a rectangle and right-click to remove one; on a phone you tap the first and last cell and press and hold to delete. Easy starts at a 5x5 grid and the higher levels grow larger, with a timer, undo and zoom settings to help on big boards. The site shows ads and has stats for your solves.
It suits fans of number logic puzzles who want a quick daily grid or a longer Master challenge, with nothing to install.
How to play Shikaku of the Day
- Open the site and pick a level from Easy to Master.
- Press Start Game to begin the timer.
- Drag from one corner cell to another to draw a rectangle around a number.
- Make each rectangle's area match its single number, and remove shapes that do not fit.
- Cover the whole grid with no gaps or overlaps to finish.
Tips
- Start with numbers near corners and edges, which have fewer ways to grow.
- Think in factors: a 12 can only be 1x12, 2x6 or 3x4, so rule out shapes that do not fit.
- Look for cells that only one number can reach and claim them first.
