About Secret Roomle

Secret Roomle is a fan-made puzzle for players of The Binding of Isaac, the roguelike in which hidden rooms are found by bombing walls. Each day the game generates one floor, labelled with its chapter and any curse, such as Necropolis I with no curse, and draws the rooms as grey squares on the map.

Your job is to find the two hidden rooms. You click an empty space to bomb it, with six bombs to spend. A miss is not wasted: the first ones reveal which rooms are which, such as the shop and the boss room, and then the rocks that sit on walls and block a secret room from spawning there. The game's tips repeat the rules regulars know: a secret room tends to be surrounded by many rooms, while a super secret room touches only one and is often near the boss or shop.

For a harder day you can switch on Ultra Secret rooms by clicking the red key before you start, and a setting decides whether bombing a red room next to it counts. An endless mode gives more floors for practice. The site links to a detailed explanation of how secret rooms are generated.

How to play Secret Roomle

1. Open roomle.net to load today's floor, and click the red key first if you want an Ultra Secret room too.
2. Look at the room layout and pick an empty space where a secret room could fit.
3. Click it to place a bomb; you have six.
4. Use what each miss reveals, room types and then rocks on walls, to narrow it down.
5. Find both the secret room and the super secret room before your bombs run out.

Tips

• Bomb spaces touching three or four rooms first: that is where secret rooms usually spawn.
• Look for the super secret room next to a single room, often by the boss room or the shop.
• A rock on a room's wall means no secret room can be on that side.
• Practise patterns in endless mode before the daily floor.
