Ruledle is a calm daily puzzle about finding a hidden rule. You see short sequences of numbers, symbols or words and answer a two-way question about each, such as Border or Center. The feedback lets you form a theory, and five correct answers in a row reveal the rule. One wrong answer resets the run.

About Ruledle

Ruledle turns the old party game where one person knows a secret rule into a solo daily puzzle. Each day has one rule that decides every answer. The game shows a sequence, for example five digits, and asks a question with two answers, such as Border or Center. You pick one and learn whether it was right, and every sequence goes into a review list with its correct answer so you can compare them.

To win you need five correct answers in a row; a single mistake sets the count back to zero, and you have ten guesses for the day. The rules use everyday observation rather than trivia or heavy maths: the count of symbols is even, the last digit is 5 or more, the word has a double letter, the word starts with a vowel. The question type changes from day to day.

A new puzzle is released every calendar day in UTC, numbered and dated, and everyone plays the same one. The archive keeps every earlier day. Ruledle is free with no account, saves progress on your device and is available in more than 30 languages.

It suits players who like deduction puzzles such as Clues by Sam or Deduce and enjoy the moment a pattern clicks.

How to play Ruledle

  1. Open ruledle.com to see today's numbered puzzle.
  2. Look at the sequence and answer its question by choosing one of the two options.
  3. Check whether you were right and add it to your theory of the rule.
  4. Test your theory on the next sequence; a wrong answer resets your run to zero.
  5. Get five correct in a row within your guesses to reveal the rule.

Tips

  • Compare two sequences with different answers and ask what changed between them.
  • Check simple features first: count, first and last character, length, odd or even.
  • Answer to test a theory, not just to score; a wrong answer early can still tell you a lot.
