Rect!
Draw rectangles so each one holds a single number equal to its area.
Every day: One 8x8 shikaku Daily Puzzle a day, generated from the date so every player gets the same grid, played once a day with a streak. New puzzle: Midnight, your local time.

Rect! is a shikaku puzzle game: you split the grid into rectangles so that each one contains exactly one number and covers that many cells. Its Daily Puzzle gives everyone the same 8x8 grid each day, and there are free play, campaign, survival, time attack and mystery modes besides.
About Rect!
Rect! is a browser puzzle by shifty1013 built around shikaku, the Japanese rectangle-dividing logic puzzle. Each number on the grid is a clue. You draw a rectangle around it whose area matches the number exactly, and the whole grid has to be covered with no overlaps and no gaps, so there is one correct partition.
The Daily Puzzle is an 8x8 grid generated from the date, so every player gets the same one that day; it changes at midnight on your own clock. Once you finish, the button shows Daily Done and your result, and solving on consecutive days builds a streak. While you play, the screen shows your time, your best time and an accuracy figure, and you have Undo, Clear and a limited number of hints.
Beyond the daily there is plenty more. Free Play has six sizes, from Beginner 5x5 to Master 20x20. Campaign runs through numbered levels that grow from 5x5 to 20x20, and there are Survival, Time Attack and a Mystery mode that hides some of the clues. Zen Mode removes the pressure, and Hardcore Mode removes the safety net.
It has a warm paper look by default plus five dark colour themes, and it works on phones. There is no account and no ads, and progress saves in your browser. It suits anyone who likes quiet grid logic in short sessions.

Tips
- Start with the large numbers in tight spots and with any number that fits only one way, such as a prime number along an edge.
- A cell that only one number can reach must belong to that number's rectangle.
- Use the hints sparingly; they are limited.
- Small numbers next to each other often settle a corner quickly, which then frees up the big ones.
