About Quad Puzzle: 4 Words

Quad Puzzle takes the Wordle colour clues and spreads them over four boards. Every word you type goes onto all four grids, and each board colours its letters separately: blue for the right letter in the right place, amber for a right letter in the wrong place and grey for a letter not in that word. The keyboard splits each key into four colours so you can see how a letter stands on every board.

The Daily Challenge is the same set of four words for every player, with a timer and a count of guesses left. Results go on a global Daily Rank leaderboard, ordered by boards solved, then guesses, then speed, and you can share a spoiler-free result card. Outside the daily there is an Unlimited mode with Classic (nine guesses) and Challenge (seven guesses) difficulty.

The app tracks streaks, statistics and personal bests, and has achievements and unlockable colour themes. It is free on iPhone and iPad with a small banner ad and no pop-ups.

It suits players who find one Wordle a day too short and like the juggling of Quordle.

How to play Quad Puzzle: 4 Words

1. Open Today and start the Daily Challenge.
2. Type a five-letter word; it is entered on all four boards.
3. Read each board's colours: blue is right and in place, amber is in the word elsewhere, grey is not in that word.
4. Use the four-colour keyboard to plan guesses that help several boards at once.
5. Solve all four words within nine guesses, then check your Daily Rank.

Tips

• Spend the first two guesses on common letters to light up all four boards.
• Once a board is nearly solved, finish it: a solved board's guess still feeds the other three.
• Watch the split keys on the keyboard for letters that are in some words but not others.
• Speed counts for the leaderboard only after boards solved and guesses, so do not rush.
