Sort sixteen Pokémon into four hidden groups, a new board each day.

Every day: One numbered board a day, the same for everyone: sixteen Pokémon from all nine generations to sort into four hidden groups. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

poconnections

Poconnections daily board No. 059 for Oct 5, 2026: sixteen Pokémon sprites including Mareep, Chi-Yu, Togekiss, Giratina, Seel, Dewgong and Kyogre, with Easy, Medium, Hard and Tricky labels

Poconnections is a fan-made Pokémon take on Connections. Each numbered daily board shows sixteen Pokémon sprites, from all nine generations, hiding four groups of four, such as a type, a colour, a generation or a Pokédex category. There are no lives: you keep guessing, and fewer attempts is a better score.

About Pokémon Connections (poconnections)

Poconnections puts sixteen Pokémon on a board each day at midnight UTC, numbered and dated (No. 059 on 5 October 2026). Four groups of four are hidden among them, and every board has exactly one valid solution, with each Pokémon fitting only one group. The groups are colour-coded by difficulty: Easy is a category you can name on sight, such as Poison-types; Medium is a single clear property that is less obvious, such as purple Pokémon; Hard needs real Pokédex knowledge, such as Fairy-types or a generation; and Tricky is built to overlap the other three as much as possible.

You select four Pokémon and press Submit. Unlike Connections, there is no losing: a wrong guess only adds to your attempt count, and the aim is to clear the board in as few attempts as possible. Shuffle and Clear buttons help you look at the board afresh.

Beside the daily there are Unlimited boards, a Pokémon Wordle, a Community section and a Create mode for making your own boards. It is free with no sign-up, and an optional sign-in tracks experience points. It is a fan project, not made by Nintendo or The Pokémon Company.

How to play Pokémon Connections (poconnections)

  1. Look over the sixteen Pokémon on the day's board.
  2. Select four that you think share something: a type, a colour, a generation or a Pokédex category.
  3. Press Submit; a right group locks in with its colour, a wrong one adds an attempt.
  4. Keep going until all four groups are found, in as few attempts as you can.

Tips

  • Find the Easy group first, usually a common type or body colour, to shrink the board.
  • Leave the Tricky group for last: its members are chosen to look like they belong elsewhere.
  • Remember each Pokémon fits only one group, so a Pokémon that fits two ideas tells you one of them is a trap.
  • Think about generations and Pokédex categories, not only types.
