About Sudoku (PlayWeb)

Sudoku is one of the puzzles on PlayWeb, a free site of small browser games. Its daily challenge is the same for everyone and comes in Easy, Normal and Hard. The rules are the classic ones: fill the 9x9 grid so every row, every column and every 3x3 box contains the digits 1 to 9 exactly once.

You tap a cell, then a number on the pad, or type with your keyboard. Conflicting digits turn red, a Notes button switches to pencil marks, and the board shows how many cells are empty and how many singles are available, which is a quiet hint at how far simple logic will take you. Practice mode gives more grids outside the daily.

When you finish, you can share your result and see a countdown to the next challenge. The site tracks your best time and streaks, offers several colour themes, and is in English, Spanish and Korean. How to play Sudoku (PlayWeb)

2. Tap an empty cell, then tap a number or type it.
3. Make every row, column and 3x3 box contain 1 to 9 exactly once; conflicts turn red.
4. Use Notes to pencil in candidates.
5. Fill the grid to finish, then share your result.

Tips

• Look for singles first: the counter under the grid tells you how many cells have only one possible digit.
• Scan each digit across the boxes to find where it must go.
• Pencil in candidates for a whole box before guessing at any of them.
• Red conflicts show mistakes at once, so check them before going further.
