Parafraze Daily
Rate itListen to five spoken clues and type the word each one describes.
Every day: One edition a day, the same for every player: five cards, each a spoken clue to a word, scored out of 500 points in all. New puzzle: Midnight New York time (Eastern Time).

Parafraze Daily reads you five clues out loud, with captions, and you type the word each one describes. Fast answers score up to 100 points a card, so a perfect day is 500. A new edition arrives at midnight New York time, and past days wait in an archive.
About Parafraze Daily
Parafraze Daily is the one-player daily edition of Parafraze.gg, an online team game where one player describes words and teammates type their guesses. In the daily, a recorded voice takes the clue-giver's place: each card is read aloud, with captions on screen, and you type the answer into the box below.
A clue usually gives a plain description of the thing and then a nudge about the word itself. On one October card, a glass building that keeps plants warm came with the hint that part of the word is the colour of grass. Each card is marked with a difficulty, starting at Easy.
The timed edition is the standard way to play. A card is worth 100 points until two seconds after the main clue has been read, then drops toward 50, and a miss scores nothing. A close spelling earns half credit, and you can correct it for the full amount. Five cards make 500 points possible, and you get one attempt per edition, kept in your browser.
Relaxed Mode, chosen in Options before you start, takes the clock away: exact answers score 100 and close spellings 50, but relaxed scores do not count toward your statistics or streak. A calendar lets you open earlier editions, and archive scores can still set a personal best. When you finish, a recap shows how your score compares and gives you a score card to share.
It suits players who like definition and wordplay clues, and anyone who would rather hear a puzzle than read one. Captions mean it also works with the sound off.
How to play Parafraze Daily
- Open parafraze.gg/daily and turn your sound up, or leave captions on to read along.
- If you want no timer, open Options and switch on Relaxed Mode before you start.
- Press Play to start today's edition.
- Listen to the first clue and type the word it describes, then press Guess.
- Fix a close spelling to raise half credit to full, or press Pass to move on.
- Press Next and repeat for all five cards, then check your score out of 500 and share it if you like.

Tips
- Answer as soon as you are sure: full points only last until two seconds after the main clue.
- Listen for the end of the clue, where it often hints at how the word is built, such as two shorter words joined together.
- Play the timed edition on its release day if you care about your streak; archive and Relaxed games do not extend it.
- Results are kept in one browser, so play on the same device each day to keep your stats together.
Questions
What time does Parafraze Daily reset?
A new edition comes out at midnight New York time. To keep a streak you need to finish the timed edition on its release day by that clock.
Do I need the sound on?
No. Captions are on by default, so you can read each clue as it is spoken.
Can I play earlier days?
Yes. The calendar button opens the daily archive, and archive scores can set a personal best, though they do not count toward your streak.
Is there a way to play without the timer?
Turn on Relaxed Mode in Options before you start. Exact answers still score 100 and close spellings 50, but the result stays out of your statistics.
